Santa Is Off to a Flying Start

Santa is checking his list twice for nearly 400 students at Gault Street Elementary School in Van Nuys who are eagerly awaiting his arrival on December 15!  Santa and his ground crew, featuring a lively snowman and reindeer, will arrive in style on the school playground in a convoy of classic cars to spread holiday cheer and distribute surprise gifts to the student audience.

Prior to Santa’s arrival, the children will participate in a fun-filled interactive wildlife education program where they can handle and learn about small animals such as snakes, hedgehogs and millipedes, and learn about the important roles wildlife play on our planet. This annual event is courtesy of Van Nuys Airport's Adopt-A-School program, which provides resources and opportunities to help local students achieve success.

“This is one of the airport’s most fun and festive events,” said VNY Public and Community Relations Director Diana Sanchez. “For many of these children, Santa’s arrival is the highlight of their holiday season. This is a wonderful way to expose students to aviation, provide a hands-on educational experience and celebrate the season all in one day!”
