The LAX Community Relations Division develops and implements ongoing community outreach programs designed to optimize effective two-way communications with neighboring communities. A key focus of the division is establishing programs and services that address the needs and concerns of
surrounding airport communities through opportunities such as youth programs, aviation education, volunteerism and community and civic participation.
Community Partnerships - LAX Community Relations is a member and supporter of several local Chambers of Commerce, including El Segundo, Culver City, Inglewood/Airport Area, LAX Coastal and Hawthorne, in order to foster strong partnerships and stay connected with communities in the
The division also holds membership with civic and service organizations like the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs, and is involved with supporting many non-profits in the LAX area including the USO at LAX, Airport Marina Counseling Center, St. Margaret’s and Westchester YMCA.

Programs - LAX Community Relations Division is heavily focused on establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with local businesses and stakeholders in the areas surrounding LAX.
The Business & Job Resource Center (BJRC), which is housed in the Community Relations Division, is committed to the shared economic interests of Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), its tenants, local businesses and the communities impacted most by LAWA’s projects and activities.
That commitment is centered on helping job seekers, emerging business enterprises and student interns navigate and access the promising employment, contracting and work experience opportunities that LAWA has to offer.
Educational Programs – We have several educational outreach programs that introduce our future generation to the world of aviation and business. Aviation Careers Educations (ACE) Academy (make text a hyperlink to the ACE Flier) is a fun, interactive aviation summer camp for middle and high school students who are
interested in a career associated with aviation and aerospace. LAX also hosts Job Shadow Day and Aviation Career Day for local students.
Volunteerism - LAX Community Relations embraces and promotes the value of teamwork, community service and stewardship. Team LAWA, the employee volunteer program, has participated in various events throughout the year such as the L.A. Marathon Health & Fitness Expo, “Decorate a Rose Parade Float”
Experience and Coastal Cleanup Day.
